The Rep Fitness 9-Bar storage system is the perfect item to store your barbells and specialties bars vertically while taking up as little space as possible. The company has built a functional and stylish product in true Rep Fitness fashion.
Let’s dive in and closely examine this excellent Rep Fitness barbell holder, including its aesthetics, build strength, and small but very functional design.
Rep Fitness Barbell Holder Design
The tubes on the storage system easily fit my two-inch bars perfectly while providing a solid grip for slightly smaller specialty bars such as my EliteFTS SS Yoke bar.
As you can see in the photo above, the bars are held in place with smooth rounded mounts that pass to the bottom plate. Each sleeve was designed to hold 7 1/2 inches of a barbell’s sleeve, enough to give a solid grip while not excluding smaller specialty bars.
Inside the tubes, the Rep Fitness 9-Bar Storage holder provides plastic that extends the entire length of the tube. This is an important feature that is often missing on vertical bar holders. I store my SS Yoke in one of the holders and have yet to see any damage to the bars clearcoat, which is rather fragile.
Just a quick note, the actual unit is 8 1/2 inches tall, while the sleeves sit slightly off the ground.
While the welds are not the prettiest I’ve seen, I don’t mind their slightly industrial look. That’s not to say the weld points are weak; I’m positive this vertical bar holder will last a lifetime thanks to the solid build Rep Fitness has put into the product.
You’ll notice that the tubes are thick; this ensures that the product does not bend when heavier bars lean slightly against the tubes.
As I noted, the Rep Fitness 9 Bar Holder doesn’t occupy much space. The square box is just 18 inches by 18 inches.
Rep Fitness Barbell Holder Size
To show the size of the product, here’s the unit holding my Titan Fitness Multi-Grip Camber Bar, my Rogue Ohio Bar, and my EliteFTS SS Yoke Bar.
You’ll notice that any bar leaning is negligible, a big plus when protecting premium barbells and specialty bars that can easily run into the $300 to $1000 range.
The box is big enough to hold even the biggest specialty bars while remaining compact enough to stay out of the way.
You’ll notice that some bars shift around a tiny bit, which occurs with bars slightly smaller than traditional barbells. Still, because of the 7.5 inches of depth for each tube, those bars remain firmly in place.
The box also refuses to shift around on my rubber flooring thanks, in part, to its 40-pound weight, which gives some heft to its hold. Remember that the three bars I’ve featured total 147 pounds in weight. Adding six additional bars can easily bring the total weight to more than 400 pounds.
I have four children at home, and I fully trust this box to remain in place while keeping them safe.
Finally, as shown in the first picture, this Rep Fitness barbell holder features a laser-cut logo that showcases a commercially built storage system that any gym owner will love, whether in the home or commercially.
