EliteFTS SS Yoke Bar
Overall

Product Summary
The EliteFTS SS Yoke Bar is the best safety squat bar on the market, hands-down. We believe it has the perfect camber and the most comfortable and well-constructed shoulder pad on the market. It’s a must-have if safely squatting is important to you.
Pros
- Best camber in the industry.
- Solid build with excellent welds.
- The most comfortable squat bar on the market.
- Double foam configuration to maintain form with amazing comfort.
Cons
- Sleeves are not machines and therefore require specialty collars. We recommend Proloc Collars.
- The clear coat is very much prone to chipping rather quickly after first use.
At 92-inches and 65 pounds, the EliteFTS SS Yoke Bar is one of the bulkiest specialty bars on the market. It’s also the most efficient bar you can own if safely performing squats, good mornings, and similar movements are important to you.
EliteFTS co-founder Dave Tate has spoken about this unique bar many times. One thing he almost always points out is that the distances between the inside surface of the pads is nearly 9-inches. That’s wide enough for powerlifters but still within the range of total comfort for casual lifters.
Comfort is a big selling point for the EliteFTS SS Yoke Bar. In our experience, placing the safety squat bar on the shoulders feels amazing and throughout an entire squat, the bar’s unique camber ensures you don’t overstrain the lower back or cause injury to your shoulders.
The current version of the SS Yoke Bar features a neck pad that offers two layers of foam. This ensures the bottom layer stays firm while the shoulder area has room to expand outward for comfort while sitting perfectly on your back.
The handles that are included with the EliteFTS SS Yoke Bar are fully removable and feature a machine shopped screw-in design. We love the length of the handles which allow for excellent grip and maneuvering without aiding in the actual lift. EliteFTS has truly done a great job of creating the right shortness for optimal use.
The EliteFTS SS Yoke Bar is also incredibly durable with a rated lift capacity of over 1500 pounds. If you happen to break that limit, we’ll see you standing atop the Strong Man podium.
While it’s prone to chipping, the current iteration of the EliteFTS SS Yoke Bar features a clearcoat finish for a very cool finished look that looks great in our garage gym.
If there’s one major complaint we would like to see fixed, the sleeves on this specialty bar are not machined to Olympic barbell standards, thus they require non-standard collars to hold your weights in place.
After six months of use, the Yoke Bar has proven to be one of the most welcomed additions to our garage gym. Our posterior chain feels great even after heavy lifts, and we always feel safe using the bar to set new squat and box squat personal records.
