The Rogue USA Aluminum collars feature a lifetime warranty and it’s immediately clear why Rogue can stand behind that offer. Built with aircraft-grade 6061 Billet Aluminum, these lockdown barbell collars are incredibly tough. From the moment we held the collars in our hand we could tell without a doubt that Rogue has built another product to withstand even the most rigorous of lifting routines.
The first time we placed our new aluminum collars on our Rogue Ohio Bar it was clear that the nylon lock-open level was built to last. The lever snaps down snug, allowing for full closure on the bar.
When tightly gripped against the bar there’s no worry about scraping thanks to an interior rubber lining that helps avoid scratching and other friction caused issues. Given that the cheaper bar in our gym was this $300+ test bar with a Cerakote finish, that was a welcomed addition for the collars.
We tested the collar on our Rogue Ohio Bar because it’s a standard Olympic-size barbell which is required when using the Rogue USA Aluminum Collars.
The grip on the collars is so strong that you can place the collars on the bar with weights, jump on the weights, and still not experience any movements.
The Rogue USA Aluminum Collars we purchased are pictured above. They arrived with a beautiful cerakote finish, although a few accidentally dings against our barbells caused some immediate scuffing. This isn’t really a surprise considering cerakote, while more protective against corrosion, is still susceptible to becoming easily scuffed up, especially in a gym-based setting.
Overall, we use the Rogue USA Aluminum Collars for most of our lifts that don’t require specialty collars. If you can stomach the price for a pair you won’t be disappointed once you start using the product in your home gym.
