Summary

The Rep Fitness FB-5000 with Wide Pad provides a sturdy 3×3 11-gauge steel frame that houses a 14″ wide pad built with a grippy and strong piece of vinyl padding. The units wheels roll easily and a well-positioned handle makes moving it around your gym super simple. We really like the positioning of the units three feet which provide stability without getting in the way at all during lifts.

Pros

Excellent Price.

Very sturdy.

Grippy and Comfortable Wide Pad.

Easy to maneuver around the gym.

Excellent foot placement.

Cons

None.

The Rep Fitness FB-5000 with wide pad is my favorite competition-ready bench aimed at lifting heavier weights. If you’re benching hundreds of pounds or simply looking for better support on your back, the benches 14″ wide pad is both large and supportive.

Like every other Rep Fitness product I’ve used, the FB-5000 features excellent sticking for its 4″ thick pad. It’s also true to form, meeting IPF guidelines for height (17″), length (48.5″) and width.

At a cost of just $169, the bench still features an impressive 3×3″ heavy-duty frame constructed out of 11 gauge steel and super-sturdy connecting plates.

The Rep Fitness FB-5000 also offers a rather grippy vinyl upholstery that fits snug to the frame but is easily removable with 4 bolt holes. The bench actually features six bolt locations for future pad compatibility.

When lifting with the Rep Fitness FB-5000 you’ll immediately notice it’s easy to find excellent footing thanks to a 3-foot design that doesn’t allow the front support to get in the way.

The wheels for the bench work as they should. There’s nothing special to report here, they simply work and are assisted by a well placed handle that makes moving the bench around easy.

Finally, Rep Fitness offers some excellent powder-coated colors to choose from. I’m a big fan of the company’s blue coloring but you can also select from several black color options, along with silver, and red.

There’s not a lot to review when it comes to flat benches. In terms of this bench, it’s comfortable, sturdy, and well-made and that scores some major points with me.

If you need something adjustable, check out this Rep Fitness AB-5000 review. If you just need a flat bench, and you really should own one, you can check out the Rep Fitness FB-5000 here.
