Summary

The Rep Sprint Slips provide a strong grip on any Olympic barbell. They are surprisingly well made for a budget-friendly item and they move easily without a lot of hand stress during the adjustment period.

Pros

  • Strong Grip.
  • Comfortable grip handles.
  • Easy to adjust.
  • Very well made.

Cons

  • None.

The Rep Fitness Spring Clips are budget-friendly weight lifting collars that offer a no-thrills approach to keeping your weights in place on an Olympic-sized barbell.

While I normally using my Proloc 1 or Rogue USA Aluminum collars in my garage gym, I like the convenience of a clip collar when I’m going to be repeatedly moving my weights on and off my barbells.

I’ve used and reviewed other spring collars, such as the CAP Barbell Olympic 2″ Spring Clip Collar, and I’ve often found that they require a decent amount of hand strength to adjust. My experience with Rep FItness Spring Clips is the opposite of CAP and others. They are easy to adjust but don’t sacrifice their grip once in place.

I use the Rep Spring Clips on my budget-friend bars, usually when performing landmine maneuvers. I can see how they may scratch up the sleeves on a barbell because of their exposed steel. This, of course, is the price you pay for using these type of spring collars.

If the collars seem a little stiff upon first use, give them a week or two and you’ll find them much easier to slip over the sleeves of your Olympic barbells.

Finally, I really like the handle grips on these collars. Rogue Fitness makes a similar option but the steel is exposed, making for a less than ideal comfort grip. Unlike the CAP option I recently reviewed, the Rep Spring Clips also offer a better plastic handle that seems like it’s going to withstand the test of time.

Overall, for a cost of $10, they are well worth the budget-friendly cost. You can check them out HERE.
